About Gary

Gary Bland is a UK‑based writer, broadcaster, singer, actor and creator of original live entertainment productions whose work spans theatre, cabaret, broadcast and innovative audience‑driven formats.

Unlike many performers, Gary began his stage career later in life, discovering a passion for singing and live performance that quickly grew into a serious pursuit of music, theatre and storytelling. What started as a personal challenge evolved into a creative path that now includes screenwriting, stage work and original entertainment concepts.

Following early appearances in cabaret venues and open‑mic settings, Gary successfully auditioned for a musical production connected with The Old Vic — a turning point that led to a wide range of theatre and cabaret performances. His style blends music, humour and audience engagement, shaped by a performer’s instinct for connection and a writer’s instinct for character.

Alongside performing, Gary develops original entertainment formats for theatres, cruise programmes and cabaret venues. One of these is The Cocktails Show®, a registered interactive musical production where the audience selects the songs that shape each night’s performance.

Gary also writes, produces and presents Forty Shades of Jazz, a broadcast series exploring classic jazz recordings and the stories behind the artists who created them.
