I write character-led drama built around unusual ideas, moral questions and the consequences of human choices.

My work ranges from contemporary and speculative television drama to feature films, stage plays, novels, radio plays, and children’s narrative non-fiction. Whatever the form, I am interested in people first: how they behave under pressure, what they conceal, what they misunderstand, and how apparently small decisions can change the lives of others.

My background spans professional management, performance, broadcasting and live entertainment. Years spent as an actor have inevitably shaped the way I write — particularly my approach to dialogue, character, rhythm and what can be communicated without being said.

When a UN advisory unit monitoring public language for emerging behavioural risk links a catastrophic act of violence to an unseen chain of influence that unfolded entirely out of view, the team must reconstruct what happened using only open-platform evidence — and confront how one compassionate listener can heal many while unmooring a dangerous few.

When his sharp-witted adoptive mother dies, a risk-averse university accountant inherits the Bermondsey house he fled after his father’s death — and must defend both the property and the unconventional family that raised him when an entitled blood relative weaponises their lifelong secrets.

A warm, funny and ultimately emotional story about grief, family, belonging, secrets and the different ways in which people make a home.

When people who meet every accepted criterion for death begin resuming biological function days later, Professor Priya Sharma discovers that the cases may be connected to a phenomenon she first observed forty-three years earlier.

As medicine, law, families and governments struggle to decide how long the apparently dead must be protected, one question becomes increasingly urgent: what are we entitled to do to somebody before we are certain they will not return?

When a USAF Security Forces sergeant at RAF Lakenheath recognises the same method of threat inflation that cost lives during his service in Afghanistan, he joins a former British Army officer and local civilians to investigate what lies behind it. Their search uncovers a machinery of disappearance, contraband and manufactured official truth that has operated unnoticed for generations.

When Britain runs out of prison cells, a radical justice experiment moves punishment into ordinary life — where offenders choose how they serve, every bad choice carries a consequence, and one fatal judgement threatens to bring the entire system down.

WRITING FOR STAGE

Alongside my screenwriting, I write for theatre.

My stage work shares many of the preoccupations of my screen projects: moral uncertainty, human behaviour, humour in unexpected places and characters forced to reconsider what they thought they knew.

Projects include an adaptation of C.I.T.E. as a stage thriller alongside original plays developed specifically for live performance.

WRITING FOR CHILDREN

I am also the creator and writer of OUR P.A.L.S. BOOKS — Planet’s Amazing Living Species, a series of illustrated narrative non-fiction books introducing children to remarkable animals and the real environments in which they live.

Each story follows an individual young animal through a factually grounded adventure, combining storytelling, humour and natural history while encouraging curiosity about the living world.

Philip the Puffin, Finlay the Ferret, Marnie the Monarch and Popsie the African Penguin are among the completed titles.

I'M NO MUG

Three years after the death of his wife, Anna, Bill still makes two cups of tea every morning, talks to her as though she is upstairs, and keeps her chair exactly where it has always been. His routines are affectionate, funny and deeply human — but they also reveal just how firmly the past still occupies the room.

When Anna’s best friend Susan begins to become something more, Bill is forced to confront a question he has carefully avoided: can he allow himself to love again without feeling that he is betraying the woman he lost? Warm, funny and tender, I’M NO MUG is a stage play about grief, memory, friendship and second chances — and about discovering that moving forward does not necessarily mean leaving someone behind.
